Alterations Tailoring & Repair Class.

Wednesday | June 3 | 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Students will learn how to tailor and adjust garments to their body shape. Instructional assistance includes garment alteration, tailoring, and repair work. Students are asked to bring in a garment or project that needs attention in altering, tailoring, or repair that can be accomplished in the allotted time frame. Basic sewing skills required.

Hand Sewing Techniques Class
Includes Materials. One Day Workshop.
Students will learn how to sew a variety of hand sewing techniques. Instruction will cover how to sew a basting stitch, running stitch, backstitch, overcast/whip stitch, and blanket stitch.
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Hand Sewing Techniques
Includes Materials. One Day Workshop.
Students will learn how to sew a variety of hand sewing techniques. Instruction will cover how to sew a catch stitch, slip stitch, and how to sew a flat and shank button. Time permitting, Instruction will cover how to hand sew a bespoke button hole. Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Please note that we require a minimum amount of student participation to offer each class. You will be contacted a week prior to class beginning to state whether the class will be moving forward or canceled. Should the class be canceled due to low enrollment, you will be notified a week in advance and will be offered the option to attend another class, offered a student credit, or a refund.

Hemming & Finishing Workshop
Includes materials. 1 day workshop.
Tuesday | June 9 | 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Students will learn how to measure, mark, cut, and sew hems with machine and by hand. Instruction will cover techniques for hemming specific fabrics and proper hem finishing for each garment and fabric. Students are asked to bring in a garment that requires hemming that can be accomplished in the allotted time frame.
Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate

Includes materials. 1 day workshop. Age 4 – 6 years.
Students will learn the basics of hand sewing while constructing a felt animal. Instruction covers how to thread a needle, tie a knot, and sew the running stitch. Pre-punched holes will provide a guide to follow, while sewing with yarn and plastic needles.

Introduction To Your Serger.

Students will learn the history of the overlock/serger, how to thread, adjust tension and operate their serger. Students are asked to bring in their serger & user manual.

In this intensive camp, students will learn how to sew a variety of hand sewing techniques. They will participate in fun projects each day to further their sewing and construction skills. Instruction will cover how to sew a running stitch, whip stitch, blanket stitch and how to sew on a button. Projects include: hand sewing felt pin cushions and hand sewing felt animals.

Kids Summer Sew Camp
Includes Most Materials. 1 week course. Age 6 – 10 years.
Monday – Friday | June 8- June 12 | 11:00am – 12:30pm
In this intensive camp, beginner and intermediate students will have the opportunity to learn new skills and create a finished garment or project. Students will learn basic sewing techniques based on experience. Technical training will cover how to read commercial patterns, fabric layout, cutting and garment construction. Projects and fabric should be determined prior to the start of class with the aid of the instructor.

Stuffed Shorebird Sewing Workshop
Includes materials. 2 day workshop. Age 6 & up.
Friday | August 7 & 14 | 10:00am – 12:00pm
Students will learn how to construct a stuffed sandpiper shorebird by machine. Instruction covers basic machine operation, pinning, sewing and stuffed animal construction.

Saturday & Sunday, May 16 & 17, 9:00am – 5:00pm (1 hr lunch break)
Instruction will cover how to properly measure for pants. Using a commercial pattern, students will learn how to create pattern modifications specific to their measurements, layout, cut, assemble a mock-up and do a fitting. Students are asked to bring in a commercial pant pattern to modify.
Skill level: Intermediate. Basic math skills required.

Saturday & Sunday | August 8 & 9 | 9:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
Students will learn to draft, construct, tailor and replicate their favorite garment in the form of a mock-up. In depth technical construction will cover multiple techniques to replicate. Easy to moderate construction of garment is recommended for time frame. Deconstructing original garment is not necessary.
Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced

Monday, April 27, May 4 & May 11, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Students will learn how to print and construct a lined tote bag with leather straps. Instruction will cover how to print fabric with both Indian textile printing blocks and vintage wallpaper rollers, how to construct a tote bag, and how to set leather straps with hardware.
Skill Level: Beginner / Intermediate
