Students will learn how to read and follow a simple pattern with the guidance of the instructor. Students will learn how to operate a sewing machine, layout, cut and construct a simple garment or project. The focus will be highlighted on proper construction, ensuring students gain an understanding on how to read and follow a pattern. Students will have a choice of projects provided by the school.

Includes Most Materials. 1 week course. Age 6 – 10 years.
Monday – Friday | June 8- June 12 | 11:00am – 12:30pm
In this intensive camp, beginner and intermediate students will have the opportunity to learn new skills and create a finished garment or project. Students will learn basic sewing techniques based on experience. Technical training will cover how to read commercial patterns, fabric layout, cutting and garment construction. Projects and fabric should be determined prior to the start of class with the aid of the instructor.

Includes materials. 2 day workshop. Age 6 & up.
Friday | August 7 & 14 | 10:00am – 12:00pm
Students will learn how to construct a stuffed sandpiper shorebird by machine. Instruction covers basic machine operation, pinning, sewing and stuffed animal construction.

Saturday & Sunday, May 16 & 17, 9:00am – 5:00pm (1 hr lunch break)
Instruction will cover how to properly measure for pants. Using a commercial pattern, students will learn how to create pattern modifications specific to their measurements, layout, cut, assemble a mock-up and do a fitting. Students are asked to bring in a commercial pant pattern to modify.
Skill level: Intermediate. Basic math skills required.

Saturday & Sunday | August 8 & 9 | 9:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
Students will learn to draft, construct, tailor and replicate their favorite garment in the form of a mock-up. In depth technical construction will cover multiple techniques to replicate. Easy to moderate construction of garment is recommended for time frame. Deconstructing original garment is not necessary.
Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced

Students must arrange who to share their semi-private lesson with, and that person must also book the desired number of hours.
Semi private lessons are a two-to-one ratio with the instructor. Instruction is tailored to suit individual students project goals.

Students will learn how to print and construct a lined tote bag with leather straps. Instruction will cover how to print fabric with both Indian textile printing blocks and vintage wallpaper rollers, how to construct a tote bag, and how to set leather straps with hardware.

Includes Materials. 6 week course.
This class did not have enough students to run on the original dates. If you are interested in taking this class, please send us an email, or call to be asked to be put on the interest list. Once we have enough students to run this course, we will set class dates that work with everyone.
Suitable for students interested in pursuing a career in fashion and for students who have a love of fashion and design.
Students will learn the key components to designing a capsule clothing collection. Instruction will cover fashion terminology and components, collection development, the production process, and an introduction to sketching fashion figures, sketching technical flats and portfolio development. Students are encouraged to bring their designs into fruition by attending our weekly sewing classes to construct their capsule collections.

$260.00Youth Beginner Intermediate Sewing
Includes most materials. 6 week course. Ages 10 & up.
Students will learn the basics of machine operation, essential sewing techniques and garment construction. Instruction will cover how to sew plain, french and welt seams, how to sew tapered and fisheye darts, and how to set a lapped zipper. Using a commercial pattern, students will learn how to complete a simple project provided by the school. Intermediate instruction may cover zippers, buttonholes, yokes, facings, bias techniques, collars, cuffs, pockets, and tailoring to fit. Students will construct a project of their choice
based on skill level.
